This guesthouse in the Velania district, just around the corner from President Rugova'a residence and close to the Hotel Dea, is much better known to taxi drivers as Guest House Professor. This by far the best deal in town. The `professor` is a friendly, helpful man who does his best to make his guests feel welcome. Most rooms have satellite TV, and there is a kitchen for the use of guests. It is very popular with groups of young visitors to Prishtina and as a consequence fills up fast. It is best to book ahead. €13 single, €18 double.

Also known as Guesthouse Profesor, Pristina’s cheapest accommodation is run by an affable former electronics professor who studied in the UK. The rooms in the three-storey house have a hotch-potch of furniture but are mostly spacious and adequate, each with satellite TV, electric heaters a private bathroom. Breakfast is not included, but rooms share well-equipped kitchens, there's a free laundry service and a few communal balconies. The professor was delighted to see us, as despite being mentioned in a few travel guides, In Your Pocket was the first to actually visit. Find Velania up the hill east of the centre behind the Lyon hotel. If the guesthouse is full, the professor's brother has an additional 20 similar rooms in a house nearby.

The guest house is located a little bit out of town in an area where the wealthy people of Pristina lives. It is right next to the house of the former president of Kosovo. The way from the guest house to town is easy because it is almost downhill all the way to the centre of Pristina because of the way the roads are constructed this unfortunately means the way back from town is uphill which is a bit more annoying. When you get to the guesthouse your best bet is probably a taxi from the airport or bus station because it can be a bit tricky to find the house at first. The owner of the house actually rents out rooms in his own large house and in a house next door. The rooms in his private house are all equipped with cable TV. And there are two shared bathrooms and showers and a communal kitchen with free coffee all day. There is also free internet on a shared computer - but given a large number of students seems to be attracted to Kosovo to study nation building the computer is quite busy. If you have a laptop it may be possible to get connected via a modem but the owner is generally very friendly and helpful but not particular fast so be patient. If you can live with the communal bathrooms you are probably better off in this building than the one next door which according to some of the people staying there were a bit dead socially.

Guesthouse is a beautiful 3 story house with single, twin, double and triple rooms, each room i equipped with Cable and Satelite TV. All the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and several have balconies as well. Each floor has its own fully equipped kitchen, microwave, oven,frig, electric kettle etc. Coffee,tea, and ingredients are free. There is also free computer and internet available 7/24 on each of the floors. A dorm is available with 5 real beds (no bunk Beds!). One large apartment consisting of bedroom, living room and seperate kitchen is also available. It also has a large balcony with table and chairs with a fantastic view overlooking Pristina
